When we’re ready for takeoff and adventure calls us to the skies, lavender, with its daring aerial acrobats, teaches us how to leave earthly encumbrances behind by lifting us to the clouds with the courage of an aviator, jazzy discrimination of a flapper, and benevolence of the scarlet macaw, rapturing flyers to Heaven upon its golden wings to commune with the air and converse with the thunder. Associated with the Archangel Uriel, whose name means “fire of God,” and Raphael, “God has healed,” lavender is primarily ruled by the Archangel Uriel. A seraphim and cherubim credited with bringing alchemy to the Earth, Uriel is known as a regent of the Sun and is referred to as the Archangel of salvation who oversees repentance. Ruled by these Archangels are aviation and pilots, literature and writers, aircrew and communication, travel and books, making lavender exceptionally useful for aviators, flight attendants, those connected with the airline industry, aspiring authors and jet-setters alike. Together these Archangels rule the zodiac signs of Gemini, Virgo and Aquarius. Among the animals resonating with lavender are the Indian peafowl (Uriel) and scarlet macaw (Raphael), great totems of sexual monogamy and friendly service (scarlet macaw) and sexual freedom and courage (Indian peafowl). Synchronizing with lavender are its stones, chrysocolla and crocoite, known for expressing power effectively through discerned-direct-indirect-gracious communication, stimulating heroism and elevating writing acumen. Bringing balance to the air element, lavender is useful in the magical treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder and spiritually resetting pressure changes that result in chronic pain. Lavender increases thrust for takeoff, decreases drag for flight, and gets us to our unencumbered cruising altitude fast. Promoting adventurous fun, engendering teamwork, nurturing one’s ability to fly freely and discerning the unseen are some of lavender’s strengths.
