The Spiritual Lessons
of Lavender
Coming in the Clouds Soon!

a book in three parts

by David Jonathan Lavin
Lavender is connected to the AIR element, and specifically to aviation, and deeply embedded in aeronautics are hidden spiritual principles working in, on and through our everyday lives. The same aeronautical principles working on airplanes work on us in spiritual flight. The application (and remedy) is only somewhat different. Lavender's aerial lessons are not an elaborate metaphor. They reveal the actual aeronautical principles laboring against us every minute of every day. Hence, lavender schools aviators on how to overcome and harness these forces, so that we, no different than airplanes, can fly.

Standing by since the 1920s, the Age of Aviation, to unveil its aerial dispatch about pilots and courage, airplanes and adventure, sexuality and hospitality, lavender summons Charles Lindbergh, Amelia Earhart and even the writings of F. Scott Fitzgerald to disclose its aeronautical secrets on communication, discipline and sex. Waiting in the wings since The Great Gatsby, lavender will push the cultural envelope on understandings of marriage, fidelity, sexual freedom and other things that DRAG on us. And that’s only the beginning. This will not be what you expect.
Through exploring aeronautical principles such as LIFT and THRUST, DRAG and STALL, WEIGHT and BALANCE, lavender will teach us how to fly. And so, students of this book will be going to flight school. For those of its modules not steeped in aeronautical theory, lavender’s other creatures of the air (Elves and the Scarlet Macaw, flappers and the Indian Peafowl, airmail pilots and even the 737 MAX) fly in to teach the rest.
Students of lavender’s flight curriculum will find that its secluded lessons are available to an exclusive cohort of aviators who are willing to study hard to prove themselves worthy of the skies. But getting through lavender’s airy doors and into flight school is only the bottommost step in gaining admittance to its sacred expanse. Hard work, discipline and courage make up the rest. Residing somewhere in the space between science and faith, lavender’s supernal testament is on the runway and in position to rapture its scholars upstairs. If you are born of the clouds, prepare to pay your tuition, for we are next in line. And lavender is ready for TAKEOFF.

About the Author
David Jonathan Lavin

A resident of his hometown Des Plaines, Illinois, a northwest suburb of Chicago bordering the entire northern perimeter of O'Hare International Airport, David was made for the skies. With an inexplicable connection to Heaven from birth, David merges his four life's ambitions - ministry, performing, healing and flight - into a celestial flight manual that only Heaven could bring.

Having grown up in the airline industry with a parent who devoted 36-and-a-half years to a legacy carrier, aviation is in David's blood, and the smell of jet fuel is as inviting as any perfume. With compassion and kindness, precision and authority, David brings so much heart to everything he does, whether in his fragrant magical creations, theatrical performances, exhaustive research, lifting people up, or in being an unexpected messenger for Heaven, again. Only this time, with the courage of a lion and the heart of a lamb, David delivers a new testament for anyone who will hear.

A licensed clinical social worker in both the State of Illinois and Commonwealth of Massachusetts, when not writing David enjoys the company of his zebra finch, Ichabod, eating gummy bears, teaching on supernal subjects, apple picking, and getting back into mischief with his siblings in Concord, Massachusetts.
