When darkness covers the face of the Earth and the foundations await the breath of life, a blend of All Hallow’s Eve, with its memory of creation recaptures the Wind, lifting the veil between this world and the next, dawning resurrection breath to renew us again. Associated with eight Archangels, some of whom share rulership between ingredients, All Hallow’s Eve is primarily ruled by the female Archangel Hashmal, her Hebrew name translating to “elektron” in Greek. Representing one side of the Archangel Zadkiel, her name denotes “an inner, supernal sphere, hidden and veiled” (A Dictionary of Angels, p. 136) who comes as air and fire, the final breath of creation. Together these Archangels rule all twelve signs of the zodiac and “everything that begins….expansion.…[and] psychic powers” (The Kabbalah & Magic of Angels, p. 180-4), making it a gusty blend that unifies creation, enhances preternatural abilities and germinates new beginnings. Among the animals that resonate with this blend are the bat (Cassiel) and spider (Hashmal), great totems of universal creation (spider), rebirth and alternate-life recall (bat). Synchronizing with All Hallow’s Eve are the stones green chrysoberyl (Gabriel) and covellite (Hashmal), known for interdimensional bridging and remote viewing.
