  • When the doors are closed and our pleas go unheard, pine, with the fierce courage of the “Dog of God,” rises on both feet out of hibernation upward to the sky, blasting entrances open with its ferocious roar and impressive height to take us out of the wilderness and back to what it prefers – cuddling with its cubs in a lodge, eating honey. Associated with three Archangels, pine is primarily ruled by the Archangel Gabriel, a cherub whose name means “God is my strength.” Succeeding only the Archangel Michael in the celestial hierarchy, Gabriel is head of the water element and second highest-ranking Archangel of all. Ruler of the First Heaven, Gabriel holds audience at the left-hand side of God and is said to have saved three Hebrews from consumption in a fiery furnace. The zodiac signs associated with pine include the deeply-feeling Cancer and emotion-collecting Pisces. Ready to take on any foe for the sake of a peaceful home, pine is principally linked with the nostalgic Cancer, making it particularly beneficial for family records keepers, genealogists, film restorers, antique restoration specialists and historical rehabbers. The illnesses connected with pine are concerned with excess fluid, toxicity and pure air, effecting pine of service in spiritually addressing high blood pressure and edema, whooping cough and asthma, bodily toxins and mental distress. Containing the spiritual energy of one of its animal totems, the grizzly bear, pine uses brute strength to subdue other dangerous bears in one of four ways: (1) by mollifying them with honey, (2) repelling them altogether, (3) roaring them into submission, or (4) preparing to do battle (guess who wins?). Among pine’s two remaining totems are the salamander and red crossbill, known for providing tools to open locked doors (red crossbill) and withstanding heated emotions by growing cold (salamander). Among the stones, crystals and alloys harmonizing with pine are turquoise, clear quartz and brass, compelling allies for stimulating the throat chakra (turquoise), clearing confusion (clear quartz) and bold communication (brass). Attuning with pine is nature’s honey and onion, helpful for treating emotional wounds (honey) and augmenting the ability to consider multiple layers of information to reveal the truth (onion). Like a psychic antenna stretching from the ground to the clouds, pine reaches to Heaven to transmit far-reaching signals for help, delivering long-awaited answers to prayer. Furthermore, pine repels bears (spiritual and terrestrial) and tames those who have a tendency to go berserk. Pine aids in the recovery from sudden betrayals, chiefly intimate out-of-the-blue abandonments, protects against gunshots and unexpectedly takes back power through allowing one's voice to be heard. Boosting carefully-selected words and actions, quickly changing trajectory, seeing something through to the end and getting us out of the woods are some of pine’s strengths.
